सप्तसागरां सप्तद्वीपां पृथिवीं निर्जित्य कोस्ति सदृशो मयेति जागर्जता केनचन नेत्रागोचरेण क्षुद्रजन्तुना पोथयमानः कथं बभूव? विज्ञानेनाधुनिकेन सर्वक्षेत्रेष्वप्रतिमोन्नतिं संसाध्य चन्द्रादिलोकेषु संचरिता कथं जगाम दशामियमचराम्? नव्यनूतनयन्त्रोपकरणैः सदा सर्वत्र प्रमोदमङ्क्ता कथमभून्नुन्न ईदृक्? निखिलमिदं जगन्मयाधीनं सुमेधा अहमस्य त्रातेति जोघुषिता कथं शोचनीयां स्थितिमेषामवाप? सहस्रायुताधिकवर्षेषु या प्रगतिर्दुस्साध्यासीत्सा प्राक्तनेषु पञ्चाशद्वर्षेष्वेव संसाधिता । वैज्ञानिकोयं कालः संपर्कयुग इति विख्यातो जातः । लोकसंग्रहे तत्परा जना लोभाद्यरिषड्वर्गवशगा ऐहिकानन्दलोलुपाः क्वचित् सन्मार्गभ्रष्टा अभवन्निति तु स्फुटम् । स्वार्थान्धा मनुजाः परस्परं विद्विषन्तः कलहेष्वर्थहीनेषु प्रवृत्ता अहमहमिकाभावमुपाश्रिताः किमेतत् महत् संकटं पारयितुं शक्ष्यन्ति?
विषमायामस्यां परिस्थितावपि पैशुनबुद्धियुता अनेके जनान् वञ्चयितुकामाः । कुमार्गस्तेषां सकलमानवकुलायैव कुठारप्राय इति विस्मरन्ति ते । प्रायेण जागतिकविपदियं शिक्षाविधानं निसर्गस्य मानवहिताय । परस्परघातकप्रवृत्तिं परित्यज्य मानवास्सौहार्दभावं विद्यासुः । वसुधैव कुटुम्बकमिति वेदवाणी भूयोऽपि जनप्रियतां प्राप्ता मानवकुलस्यैकत्वं प्रतिपादयति ।
तावच्चिन्तनीयं भवत्येतद्वाक्यम् । किमिमां वसुधां केवलं मानवा एवाधिवसन्ति? किं वसुधाया वसु केवलं मानवप्रयोजनार्थं संराजते? किं खगमृगवृक्षादयो वसुधां नाधिवसन्ति? तर्हि सर्वे चराचरजीविनः कुटुम्बस्यास्य सदस्या एव । न केवलं चराचरजीविनः किन्तु जगत्यस्मिन् विद्यमाना अखिलाः पदार्था अप्यस्य जगतो निवसयितारः । कुटुम्बस्य वासस्थानं गृहम् । कुटुम्बिनः स्वगृहस्थितान् पदार्थान्न विनाशयन्ति । वैविध्यमयेस्मिन् लोके प्रत्येकं वस्तु सहेतुकम् । यद्येतन्मनसि निधाय मानवा जीवनवृत्तिपरा भवेयुस्तर्हि वसुधेयं वसुदा सार्थकनाम्नी भवेत् । मानवकुलमेतत् प्रकृतितत्त्वमनादृत्य सर्वां वसुधां स्वयमुपबुभुक्षते चेद्भस्मासुर इव तस्य दुर्गतिश्शतःसिद्धा ।
॥ सर्वे जनाः सुखिनो भवन्तु ॥
At present, in the word everywhere tumultuous cries are heard. Our mankind looks like it is moved by the frightening sickness caused by the corona virus, and surrounded by sorrow. In this mortal world, there is no piece of land which is not affected by this severe illness. Having originated in the country of China, it is not very clear even now how this illness spreads among people. Day by day, the number of people badly affected and the dead by this trouble is only increasing. The solution to stop this disease which is spreading rapidly faster than the wild fire seems to be far off. Some people, per their strength and as they fit, are taking to religious rites, chanting, physical austerity etc. hoping somehow this big trouble will go away. In all the countries, workplaces are shut down. Travel in and out of countries has been stopped completely. Working, activities of educational institutes are closed. Meeting with loved people, relatives and friends has been prohibited. Trade has stopped. Daily life is also disturbed.
Having conquered the earth that has seven seas and seven islands, and the one who roars “who is like me?” - how come he became battered by some invisible tiny pathogen? Having achieved unparalleled heights in all the fields using the modern science, the one who tours the worlds of moon etc., how did he got this unmovable status? The one who is always and everywhere engaged in enjoyment with (the help of) brand new gadgets, how come he was suppressed like this? The one who declared - this whole world belongs to me, I am the wise, and I am the saviour of this world - how come he attained this deplorable state? The progress which was not possible in tens of thousands of years, was achieved in the last only fifty years. This scientific era came to be known as communication era. It is clear that people interested in making money, coming under the influence of the six enemies - greed etc., and finding pleasure in this material world - somewhere along lost the virtuous way. Men (people) blinded of selfishness, hating one another, engaged in non-sensical bickerings, mired in undoing one another - will they be able to overcome this great crisis?
In this bad condition also, many with wicked minds, intend to cheat people. They forget that their bad path is detrimental (like an axe) to the entire mankind. Probably, this crisis affecting the entire world is nature’s lesson, for the good of man(kind). Hope men (people) will abandon hurting one other and take on goodwill (towards one another). “The whole world is a family” - that said in veda, has attained immense popularity, professes the oneness of mankind.
A little thought is needed about this sentence. Are only humans live on this planet? Is planet’s wealth exists only for the use of humans? Aren’t birds, animals and trees etc., are not living on this planet? Then, all moving and non-moving living beings are members of family only. Not only moving and non-moving living beings, but all the things that exist in this world inhabitants here. A house is where a family lives. The family members do not destroy the things in their house. Every thing in this world having variety, has a purpose. If humans keep this mind and live their life, then this “vasudhA” (the planet) might become “vasudA” (giver of wealth) - true to its name. If this humankind ignores this principal of nature, and wants to consume the entire world for itself, then its destruction is guaranteed like Bhasmaasura (the demon who killed himself).
