अन्धविश्वासः Blind Faith

तिरुपतिः इति लोकप्रसिद्धं तीर्थक्षेत्रम् | तत्र देवालये स्थितस्य श्रीनिवासदेवस्य दर्शनार्थं बहवः जनाः प्रतिदिनम् गच्छन्ति | एकस्मिन् दिने देवालयस्य पुरतः जनानां दीर्घा पङ्क्तिः आसीत् | घण्टाद्वयं वा घण्टात्रयं वा निदाघे कष्टेन भक्तजनाः पङ्क्तौ स्थिताः | देवदर्शनार्थं सर्वे उत्सुकाः |

तदा तत्र कश्चित् अन्धः आगतवान् | सः पङ्क्तौ अस्थित्वा अग्रे सर्तुम् आरब्धवान् | तदा अन्ये जनाः अवदन् - "भोः, किमर्थं एतावती त्वरा | त्वं तु अन्धः | देवं द्रष्टुं न शक्नोषि | देवालयं गत्वा किं करोषि ?" अन्धः प्रत्यवदत् - "महाभागाः क्षम्यताम् | सत्यम् अहं तु अन्धः | देवं द्रष्टुं न शक्नोमि | परन्तु मम विश्वासः अस्ति | देवः मां द्रष्टुं शक्नोति | अतः अहं देवालयं गन्तुम् इच्छामि" |

अन्धस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा जनाः मूकविस्मिताः अभवन् |

English Translation:
Tirupati is a world-famous sacred place. To see the Lord Shrinivasa (idol) in the temple, lot of people go there everyday. One day, there was a long line in front of the temple. The devotees were standing in the line for two or three hours in the hot sun. To see the lord, they were all eager.

Then, a blind came there. Without standing in the line, he started to move forward. Then, the other people said - "Hey, why is this much hurry? You are blind. You cannot see the god. Going to the temple, what will you do?" The blind replied - "Excuse me gentlemen. True, I am blind. I cannot see the god. But I have faith. The god will be able to see me. Therefore, I would like to go to the temple".

Hearing the blind person's talk, the people became speechless.
